I wanted my next project to depict more than patterns and colors. I wanted to play with an iconic background and a foreground that I could add detail to. This ended up being the Brooklyn Bridge and a telescope viewer. In the same manner I created the files in illustrator, had them printed and I cut out the pieces and layered them together.
I took this same concept and translated it to wood(below) used the same cuts from the paper project above and traced them onto 1/4in pieces of birch wood. Using a scroll saw, I went to work cutting out the layered images.
